We want every experience on Teach Academy to be a positive one. This policy explains when refunds apply and how they are handled.
Last updated: June 2026
Teach Academy takes a fair and considered approach to refunds. Refunds are not automatically issued — each case is reviewed to ensure both the student and the tutor are treated fairly. All refund decisions are made by Teach Academy administration and are final once communicated.
This Refund Policy forms part of our Terms of Service. By using the platform, you agree to the terms set out here.
2.1 General Rule
Self-study subscriptions are non-refundable once the subscription is active and access to content has been granted, for the full monthly rate charged.
2.2 Technical Fault Exception
If a confirmed technical fault on Teach Academy's side prevented you from accessing the service for a significant portion of your subscription period, you may contact us at refundsupport@teachacademy.co.zw to request a review. Teach Academy will assess the case and may, at its sole discretion, offer a partial refund or a subscription extension.
2.3 Free Trial
Teach Academy offers a number of free worksheets before requiring a subscription. We encourage all users to make use of this free access before subscribing so that you can assess the platform for your needs.
Live Group Tutoring is billed as a single monthly cohort fee, paid upfront, covering all lessons and assessments for that month. There is no per-lesson payment or refund.
If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson, that lesson is forfeited. No refund will be issued, as the monthly fee already covers the full cohort regardless of individual attendance.
If a tutor fails to attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice, the student will be provided a replacement lesson with a substitute tutor at no additional charge. No refund is issued, since the monthly cohort fee remains fully honoured through the replacement lesson.
The session will be flagged for admin review and the tutor's account will be subject to a performance review. To report a tutor no-show, please contact us at refundsupport@teachacademy.co.zw within 24 hours of the scheduled session time.
For lessons beyond a student's first, refunds are not available. In the case of a confirmed tutor no-show (see Section 4), the remedy is a replacement lesson with a substitute tutor, not a refund. A refund may only be considered in the case of a confirmed technical fault on Teach Academy's infrastructure that made the session impossible to conduct.
Dissatisfaction with a lesson's content or teaching approach for recurring sessions should be raised through the rating and dispute system within the 72-hour window. This will be reviewed by the admin team and may result in remedial action against the tutor, but does not automatically entitle the student to a refund.
If a session was significantly disrupted by a technical issue, the party responsible for the disruption matters:
All technical fault claims must be raised within 24 hours of the session by emailing refundsupport@teachacademy.co.zw.
Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method used at the time of purchase via Paynow. Processing times are subject to your bank or mobile money provider and are typically completed within 5–10 business days of approval.
Teach Academy will notify you by email once a refund has been approved and processed.
