Please read these terms carefully before using Teach Academy. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Teach Academy is an online learning platform operated by Sterling Education Group, providing curriculum-aligned self-study worksheets, live group tutoring sessions, and instant homework help to students in Zimbabwe.
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Teach Academy platform, website, and all associated services. By registering for an account or accessing our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. If you are registering on behalf of a minor, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian and that you accept these terms on their behalf.
To access most features of Teach Academy, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account details up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Teach Academy cannot be held liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorised use of your account.
Learners under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian register on their behalf or supervise their account. By registering a minor on the platform, the parent or guardian accepts full responsibility for that learner's use of the platform and compliance with these terms.
3.1 Access and Content
The Self Study service provides access to curriculum-aligned worksheets, study notes, worked examples, and answer explanations. Content is reviewed before publication and aligned to ZIMSEC and Cambridge curricula.
3.2 Guest Access
Visitors may access a limited number of free worksheets without creating an account. Once the free allowance is reached, a subscription is required to continue.
3.3 Subscription
A paid subscription unlocks unlimited access to all self-study content for all subjects in the grade or level that you subscribed to, for the one-month period you paid for. Subscription fees are as published on our Pricing page and are subject to change with reasonable notice. Access does not renew automatically — to continue after your paid period ends, you make a new payment for the next month at the then-current published rate.
3.4 Acceptable Use
Self-study content is licensed for personal, non-commercial educational use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, resell, or share platform content outside of your own learning. Worksheets and study notes are generated for individual use and may not be uploaded to other platforms or shared publicly.
4.1 Nature of the Service
Teach Academy currently offers live group tutoring sessions between students and tutors. Instant Homework Help is coming soon and will be governed by these Terms once launched. Sessions are conducted through the Teach Academy platform using secure video conferencing technology.
4.2 Lesson Focus
At the time of booking, you will be asked to provide a Lesson Focus describing what your child needs help with. You may also upload relevant worksheets, past papers, or study material. This information is sent to the tutor immediately upon payment confirmation. Please be as detailed as possible to ensure the best possible session.
4.3 Tutor Verification
All tutors on the Teach Academy platform have submitted identity documentation and qualification certificates for review. Verified tutors are indicated by a verification badge on their profile. Teach Academy makes reasonable efforts to verify tutor credentials but does not guarantee the accuracy of any information provided by tutors.
4.4 Age-Based Booking Windows
To protect the wellbeing of younger learners, Teach Academy enforces age-appropriate lesson times. Lessons for students under 16 must end by 19:40 on Sunday to Thursday and by 21:00 on Friday and Saturday. Students aged 16 and older may book sessions ending up to 23:00. These restrictions are enforced automatically by the platform.
5.1 Student No-Show
If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson, that lesson is forfeited. No refund or replacement lesson will be issued, as monthly cohort fees are paid upfront and cover all lessons and assessments for that month regardless of attendance.
5.2 Tutor No-Show
If a tutor fails to attend a scheduled lesson, the student will be provided a replacement lesson with a substitute tutor. The session will be flagged for admin review and the tutor's account will be subject to performance review.
6.1 Recording of Lessons
A student's first live lesson, along with randomly selected lessons thereafter, is recorded for internal quality assurance purposes. This recording allows Teach Academy to verify that sessions are conducted professionally and to protect both the student and the tutor in the event of a complaint or dispute.
6.2 Consent
By registering on Teach Academy and proceeding to checkout for a first lesson, you consent to your lessons being recorded, including your first lesson and any lessons randomly selected thereafter. You will be asked to confirm this consent at both stages. No first lesson will proceed without this acknowledgement.
6.3 Retention and Deletion
All lesson recordings are automatically deleted within 7 days of the session.
6.4 Tutor Recording Prohibition
Tutors are strictly prohibited from recording any lesson in any form — whether through screen recording software, third-party applications, external devices, or any other method. This prohibition applies to all lessons without exception. Any tutor found to have recorded a lesson will be permanently banned from the platform and may be subject to legal action under the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] (CDPA).
8.1 Payment Processing
All payments on Teach Academy are processed by Paynow, a Zimbabwean payment gateway. Teach Academy does not store your card number or banking details. By making a payment, you also agree to Paynow's terms and conditions.
8.2 Fees
Current fees for all services are displayed on our Pricing page. Teach Academy reserves the right to change its fees at any time. Where fees change for an existing subscription, you will be notified in advance and your subscription will continue at the existing rate until the end of your current billing period.
8.3 Failed Payments
If a payment fails, access to paid services will not be granted or will be suspended until payment is successfully processed. Teach Academy is not liable for any disruption to your learning caused by a failed payment.
Refunds are not automatic and are subject to review. The circumstances under which a refund may be considered are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Please read our Refund Policy carefully before making a purchase.
Self-study subscriptions, once active, are non-refundable except at the sole discretion of Teach Academy where a clear technical fault prevented access to the service.
Live Group Tutoring cohort fees, once paid, are non-refundable except where a technical fault on Teach Academy's side prevented access to the service, and provided Teach Academy was notified before the student attended any lesson in that month's cohort. No refund will be issued once the student has attended a lesson within that month.
10.1 Communication Restrictions
All communication between tutors and students or parents must take place through the Teach Academy platform. Tutors are strictly prohibited from sharing personal contact details including phone numbers, WhatsApp numbers, or personal email addresses with students or parents. Attempts to move communication or payments off-platform are a serious violation of these Terms and will result in permanent ban from the platform.
10.2 Professional Standards
Tutors must conduct sessions professionally, punctually, and in line with the curriculum requirements specified by the student. Repeated poor ratings, no-shows, or failure to submit required session documentation will result in account review and may result in suspension or removal from the platform.
10.3 Tutor Pay
Tutors are paid monthly according to the Teach Academy income band, their cohort level, and lessons taught for each month. Payment is made via bank transfer, mobile money (EcoCash and InnBucks), or, for tutors based outside Zimbabwe, an alternative method as advised by Teach Academy.
10.4 Tutor Recording Prohibition
Tutors are strictly prohibited from recording any lesson in any form using any method or device. This rule applies to all lessons without exception. Violation of this rule will result in permanent ban from the platform and may result in legal action under the CDPA.
All content on the Teach Academy platform, including worksheets, study notes, worked examples, diagrams, and platform design, is the intellectual property of Teach Academy. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any platform content without prior written permission from Teach Academy.
Teach Academy provides its platform and services on a reasonable-efforts basis. We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes or results from using the platform. Learning outcomes depend on many factors including student effort, prior knowledge, and consistency of use.
To the maximum extent permitted by Zimbabwean law, Teach Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, interruption of service, or dissatisfaction with a tutor session.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Teach Academy reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or behaves in a manner that is harmful to other users or to the platform.
You may delete your account at any time by clicking the Delete Your Account button in your account settings. This will trigger automatic and permanent deletion of your account. Upon deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Zimbabwean courts.
Teach Academy may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify registered users by email with reasonable notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
