Why teach on Teach Academy?

We built this platform to support tutors as much as students.

Teach your subjects

Teach the subjects you know best across ZIMSEC and Cambridge curricula — from primary school to university level.

Your schedule

You set your own availability. Teach in the mornings, evenings, or weekends — whenever works for you.

Real students

Connect with Zimbabwean students who genuinely need your help. Every lesson makes a real difference.

Protected platform

Our platform protects tutors from unfair disputes. Clear rules, fair outcomes, and transparent processes.

The Verified Badge

Teach Academy tutors who hold a teaching diploma, an education degree, or any university degree are awarded our Verified Badge. This badge appears on your public profile and signals to students and parents that you hold a recognised academic qualification.

Verified tutors stand out in search results and are more likely to be booked by parents who prioritise qualifications.

Verified Badge is awarded for:

Teaching Diploma
Bachelor of Education (BEd)
Any recognised university degree

Founding Tutor Status

Tutors who join during our launch phase will be recognised as Founding Tutors. As the platform grows, founding tutors benefit from early visibility and priority placement in student searches.

Limited founding tutor spots available.

Who can become a Tutor?

We welcome applications from a wide range of qualified tutors.

Teachers, Lecturers — both practising and retired

Diploma and Degree holders (in any field) with mastery of the subject they want to tutor

University students, or anyone 18 years or older, with at least 85% in the subject they want to tutor

We accept Zimbabwean and Global tutors — tutor from anywhere in the world

Fluency in English with a neutral accent — except for those teaching indigenous languages like ChiShona and IsiNdebele

If you meet any of the criteria above, you must also be able to teach online — with access to reliable, stable internet of at least 10 Mbps, and a laptop or tablet.
Not everyone who applies will be accepted. Our admin team reviews every application before approval.

What you will need

All lessons take place on our built-in live classroom. No third-party software required — but you will need reliable equipment to deliver a professional session.

Laptop or tablet

A working laptop, desktop, or tablet capable of running the live classroom.

Webcam and headset

A functioning webcam and a headset or earphones with a microphone. Clear audio and video are essential for a quality session.

Reliable internet

A stable internet connection with a minimum speed of 10 Mbps. You will be asked to provide a speed test screenshot as part of your application.

Our live classroom is built into the platform. Once approved, you will teach directly through Teach Academy — no third-party apps needed.

How the application works

A straightforward process designed to set you up for success.

1

Create your account

Sign up and start your tutor application. Your progress is saved automatically so you can complete it in stages.

2

Complete your profile

Tell us about yourself, upload a profile photo, and confirm your identity. Let us know which subjects, grade levels, and curricula you teach.

3

Record an intro video

Upload a short one-minute introduction video. This is your chance to introduce yourself and show us your personality.

4

Prove your readiness

Show us your setup. Upload a photo of your webcam, headset, and a speed test result confirming your internet connection meets our minimum requirement.

5

Qualifications — your choice

You may upload your qualification documents at this stage or choose to defer them. If you defer, you will be asked to submit them after your initial review if you are approved.

6

Initial admin review

Our team reviews your application. If you pass this first stage you will be notified by email. The demo lesson step is locked at this stage — it only unlocks once you have received your first approval.

After first approval — by invitation:

Once your initial application is approved, you will be invited to submit any deferred qualification documents and to record a short demo lesson in your subject. The demo lesson step is locked in the application and only becomes available after first approval. We respect your time — we will never ask for sensitive documents or a demo lesson before we have reviewed your application.
